Greenpeace recently blamed Facebook for its decision of building a coal-powered data center in Prineville, Oregon in an open letter . To add to that Greenpeace has also created a group on Facebook.The allegation is a serious one. Facebook can learn from Google on how it can build efficient yet green data centers here.
The only problem is going green takes effort and money. Facebook is sitting on huge cash reserves although it is still privately held. What it lacks now is willingness to go green.
