How to enable two factor authentication for a Facebook account?

What is two factor authentication?
Two factor authentications protects your account by forcing you to add an additional layer of security on top of your password e.g. a unique OTP message on your registered mobile number.

Since you have access to your own mobile number, only you will be able to access your account.


How to enable two factor authentication in Facebook?

  1. Go to Facebook Security settings. 
  2. Select Enable the Two Factor Authentication option

  4. Confirm your selection:

    Now select the enable option again. You will need to enter your password again for confirmation.

You will asked for code every time you login to your account from a new device. Make sure you have added your phone number to your account before two factor authentication is enabled.
