Controlling who sees you online on Facebook

Facebook has made a lot of changes by introducing its new Timeline feature.
It has also made changes in its chat application, so that users can control who can see them online.




How to stop people from seeing you online in Facebook?
 1. Create a smart list, say Ignore. To know about smart lists, see this post.

 2. Click on the small icon available in Facebook chat, as shown below:

3. Click on Advanced Settings

4. Enter the smart list Ignore, in the All friends see you except... text box.


5. You can also decide to be visible only to a set of people. Create a list called Good.


6. Enter the Good smart list in the Only some friends see you... text box.
